Chinese consumer electronics developer Honor has entered into the humanoid robotics sector, marking a major diversification of its technology portfolio beyond smartphones.
The move is part of the company’s newly unveiled Honor Alpha Plan, a £7.4bn (US$10bn), five-year initiative aimed at building a comprehensive artificial intelligence ecosystem.

As part of this expansion, Honor confirmed it will both develop its own humanoid robots and form partnerships with existing robotics companies to accelerate innovation in the field.
While the company has not yet disclosed specific commercial applications for its robots, industry analysts suggest they could serve a range of roles including industrial automation and smart infrastructure, as well as future consumer-facing solutions.
