The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched the nation’s first commercial fleet of self-driving electric trucks in the Al Jazeera Al Hamra industrial zone, a hub for large-scale projects.
Through a partnership with Evocargo and RAK Ceramics, the UAE has now deployed a fleet of unmanned Evocargo N1 trucks to transport ceramics and sanitary ware products.
Reportedly, the vehicles are able to navigate dynamic environments while processing road signs, markings, pedestrian crossings, and infrastructure features in real time.
Each vehicle offers a range of up to 200km per charge, showcasing practical readiness for daily commercial use.
CEO of Evocargo autonomous logistic services in UAE, Shaheem Musthafa, said: “This launch proves autonomous, zero-emission transport is no longer a concept, but a viable solution for daily commercial operations.
“It’s a transformative step for UAE’s logistics sector – enhancing supply chains, boosting efficiency, and reducing environmental impact.
“Our Robots-as-a-Service model makes this innovation accessible and scalable, offering businesses subscription-based access to autonomous vehicle without upfront costs.”
