Acclaimed British stand-up comedian, writer, and actor Hal Cruttenden has been announced as the special guest host of this year’s Robotics & Automation Awards!
Cruttenden is one of the top touring stand-up comedians working in the UK and Ireland and an accomplished writer, presenter and actor.
Host of TNT Sports’ The Rugby’s On with Ugo Monye, Cruttenden has also appeared on Live at the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, The Royal Variety Performance, Would I Lie To You, The One Show, The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice and The Apprentice: You’re Fired.

What’s more, he has recorded three stand-up specials for Next Up – Tough Luvvie, Straight Outta Cruttenden and Chubster – and has taken his shows to comedy festivals in Montreal, Melbourne, and New Zealand.
At Robotics & Automation Awards 2025, Cruttenden will bring his trademark wit and charisma to the stage as he announces the winners during a special ceremony to be held at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in central London on 29 October 2025.
Standing on Great Queen Street, which connects Covent Garden with Holborn in the West End of London, the Grade II listed building has a history dating back to 1775 and was once home to the original Freemasons’ Tavern before becoming a hotel in 1909.
Since then, the venue has hosted some of the world‘s leading politicians, royalty, and celebrities with its grand Georgian architecture, original features and art-deco interiors. It was also featured in a season of BBC One’s The Apprentice.
This year’s Robotics & Automation Awards ceremony will be attended by 200 professionals from across the robotics and automation value chains, including OEMs, systems integrators, technology vendors and suppliers, as well as their project partners and stakeholders, end-user customers and prominent academics working across related fields.
Guests will be greeted with a drinks reception held in the Balmoral Suite ahead of the winners being announced within the impressive surrounds of the Grand Hall, which features arched ornate ceilings, beautiful wood panelling and dramatic chandeliers.
