AI-enabled robotics technology provider Symbotic has been chosen by Walmart de México y Centramérica (Walmex), to implement Symbotic’s warehouse automation systems in two of the retailer’s locations near Mexico City.
Under the agreements, Symbotic will deploy end-to-end systems at two greenfield distribution centres, with the first site in the Bajío region in Mexico currently breaking ground.

The Bajío site will be one of the largest in Walmex’s distribution network in Mexico and marks the largest system Symbotic has deployed as a single-phase project.
This partnership is also Symbotic’s first customer agreement in the region, as it taps into the the growing global demand for warehouse automation.
