Superior Communications, a North American distributor of mobile accessories, is set to automate its distribution centre with the installation of 37 robotic systems from Brightpick, a warehouse automation provider.
The installation will take place in two phases, beginning with 19 of Brightpick’s Autopicker robots entering operation this summer. Subject to a successful initial rollout, a further 18 robots will be introduced.
The full fleet will be responsible for handling a range of fulfilment tasks, including picking, buffering, order consolidation, and dispatch of products such as screen protectors, phone cases, and telecommunication equipment to retail outlets.
Once fully deployed, the automated system is expected to support up to 88,000 item picks per day—equivalent to more than 4,000 items per hour—using 2–3 human warehouse associates per shift.
Brightpick stated that the phased approach to implementation is intended to ensure smooth integration of the technology into existing warehouse operations.
Achievements and innovations in retail and e-commerce, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, automotive, transport & logistics, and more will be celebrated at the Robotics & Automation Awards on 29 October 2025 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
