Cyngn has secured an additional autonomous vehicle order from G&J Pepsi, one of the largest independent Pepsi bottlers in the USA, as it looks to scale deployments of its DriveMod Tugger across the bottler’s distribution network.
The autonomous vehicle company said G&J Pepsi has signed a new purchase order covering a multi-vehicle expansion of its existing DriveMod Tugger programme.
Cyngn said the next phase is notable because G&J Pepsi has not yet finalised which facilities will receive the vehicles, describing the decision to proceed before site selection as an indication that the technology can be applied across multiple workflows.
“Customers increasingly view autonomy as a strategic capability rather than a point solution tied to a single use case,” said Lior Tal, chief executive of Cyngn.
“When organisations commit to additional vehicles before identifying their specific assignments, it signals a high level of confidence in both the technology and the operational return it delivers across different environments.”
Jeff Erwin, vice president of manufacturing and quality at G&J Pepsi, said it is moving forward with additional vehicles ahead of finalising facility assignments “because the value is clear: the technology performs consistently, integrates cleanly and gives us a scalable path to strengthening productivity across our operations”.
Cyngn said the order builds on a previously announced DriveMod deployment within G&J Pepsi’s warehousing operations.
The bottler serves customers throughout Ohio and Kentucky and supports more than 650 products with a workforce of more than 1,900 employees, according to Cyngn.
Cyngn positions DriveMod as a way for industrial organisations to automate repetitive material handling tasks without high upfront costs or significant infrastructure installations.
The company said DriveMod is currently available on Motrec MT-160 tuggers and BYD forklifts.
