Amazon has announced the deployment of a new AI platform as well as its one millionth robot, as part of its global logistics network, alongside the launch of a new artificial intelligence system designed to improve robotic efficiency across its fulfilment centres.
The millionth robot was recently introduced at a fulfilment centre in Japan, contributing to Amazon’s broader robotic infrastructure, which now spans more than 300 sites worldwide.

In parallel, Amazon has introduced an AI foundation model named DeepFleet, aimed at coordinating the movements of its robotic fleet to enhance operational efficiency.
According to the company, DeepFleet is capable of reducing robot travel time by approximately 10%.
The system functions as an intelligent traffic manager for warehouse robots, directing their movements to reduce congestion and optimise paths within distribution centres.
It has been built using data from Amazon’s extensive logistics operations and leverages AWS technologies, including Amazon SageMaker.
Amazon states that the model will allow inventory to be stored closer to customers, enabling quicker delivery times while lowering operational expenses and energy usage.
Amazon also highlighted the human impact of its robotics programme, noting that the introduction of more advanced technologies has led to an increase in roles related to reliability, maintenance, and engineering.
Innovative applications of technology in retail and e-commerce, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, automotive, transport & logistics, and more will be celebrated at the Robotics & Automation Awards on 29 October 2025 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
