Berkshire Grey, a developer of AI-enabled robotic solutions designed to automate supply-chain processes, has announced that it has secured new orders totalling US$36m (£26.8m).

According to the company, US$25m (£18.6m) of this is from repeat orders from a blue-chip anchor customer for tens of solutions to be installed in different locations, with more locations anticipated for future orders, and US$11m (£8.1m) from new customers including US home and apparel retailer Bealls.

In total, the new orders reportedly increase the company’s total orders to-date to US$184m (£136.8m) and increase backlog to US$113m (£84m) – its highest level yet.

“Follow-on orders with blue-chip anchor customers are important indicators and align today’s progress with our long-term growth plans,” said Tom Wagner, CEO, Berkshire Grey. “Our robotic picking and other automated systems are customer proven with demonstrated ROI. That, combined with today’s need for automation across the supply chain continue to fuel business.”

Berkshire Grey’s Intelligent Enterprise Robotics solutions have been developed to enable enterprises to meet consumer expectations for on-demand delivery through intelligent robotic automation of e-commerce fulfilment, store replenishment and package handling.
