Universal Robots has introduced the UR15, its fastest and most capable collaborative robot (cobot) to date, designed to increase productivity and reduce cycle times in high-speed, high-payload applications.
With a top TCP speed of 5m/s and a standard payload of 15kg – extendable to 17.5kg in wrist-down orientations such as palletising – the UR15 offers up to 30% faster cycle times compared with other UR models in pick-and-place tasks.
The new cobot is intended for industries requiring a combination of speed, precision and flexibility in compact spaces, including automotive, machining and electronics.
The UR15 features new motion control technology, OptiMove, which improves trajectory smoothness and supports accurate operation even at high speeds.
It also carries an ingress protection rating of IP65, making it suitable for use in harsher industrial environments.
Tero Tolonen, chief product officer at Universal Robots, said: “When designing our products we start with the needs of our widely diverse customer base.
“Each industry has a unique set of requirements that shape our approach to both our cobots and our ecosystem solutions.”
The UR15 is powered by Universal Robots’ software platform, PolyScope 5, and is also compatible with PolyScope X.
It supports integration with AI-based applications via the UR AI Accelerator toolkit, developed in collaboration with Nvidia, enabling real-time robotic intelligence for inspection, handling and other advanced functions.
UR15 joins the UR20 and UR30 in the company’s high-performance UR Series, aimed at users with advanced operational requirements.
Universal Robots has also rebranded and upgraded its existing e-Series line: the UR5e gains a 2.5kg payload boost and is now designated UR7e, while the UR10e becomes UR12e. The e-Series continues to include the UR3e and UR16e.
UR15 is available to order now, with shipping expected to begin in June. The UR7e and UR12e are available for immediate delivery.
Innovative applications of collaborative robots (cobots) in retail and e-commerce, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, automotive, transport and logistics, and more will be celebrated at the third annual Robotics & Automation Awards on 29 October 2025 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
