German company Angsa Robotics, a developer of autonomous waste collection robots for green spaces, has raised €2.5m (£2.1m) in a recent funding round.
The financing was provided by Husqvarna Ventures, the venture capital branch of Husqvarna Group, a Swedish manufacturer of outdoor power products including robotic lawn mowers, chainsaws, trimmers and garden tractors.
Angsa Robotics plans to use the funding to more rapidly commercialise its product and further develop its robotic solutions.
The company’s chief aim is to produce an ecologically friendly robot that can harness artificial intelligence (AI) to collect waste in green spaces and autonomous detect and avoid obstacles and gather litter.
Lukas Weismeier, co-founder of Angsa Robotics, said: “We secured a €2.5m seed round and partnered with industry leader Husqvarna Group to revolutionise green space management.
“I couldn’t be prouder of our extraordinary team, our supporters and our customers who made this happen together!”
With its autonomous green space management robots, the company hopes to revolutionise litter collection in public places through a commitment to technology and sustainability.
