Geek+, a developer of mobile robot and smart logistics solutions, has joined forces with BlueSkye Automation to introduce a bespoke and fully automated smart warehouse solution for a 3PL company based in Georgia, USA.
The collaboration marks a significant leap in the realm of automated warehouse management, according to the pair.
Coping with surging e-commerce sales and the need to address labour shortages were key motivations behind the project.
The two companies upgraded the client’s manual operations by implementing a suite of new solutions, including goods-to-person mobile robots, shelf-to-person, sorting and pallet-to-person systems, among others.
The transformation means the site is now equipped to more efficiently handle various types of order fulfilment, catering to both B2B and B2C segments.
“Working with BlueSkye Automation, we were able to greatly increase this customer’s picking efficiency and storage density,” said Randy Randolph, director of channel partner sales at Geek+.
“Partnering with BlueSkye is extremely important, as it allows us to collaborate and bring that kind of game-changing improvement to customers.”
Armando Gonzalez, president of BlueSkye Automation, added: “Our integrated solutions are all about making work more efficient and increasing productivity; with Geekplus, we can help our food and beverage, automotive, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and e-commerce customers leverage the benefits of autonomous mobile robots.”
The successful deployment of the solution underscores a growing trend in warehousing towards automated sire management, with such systems promising increased productivity and operational efficiency for businesses across sectors.
